11.05 PRAYER LIST

1. Pray for courage for our team to continue loving and inviting their unchurched friends and family into small groups and to our Launch Team Gathering.

2. Pray for additional funds to be raised. We need about another $10k to meet our basic budget for 2006, but our dream budget would require another $25k. Check our financial report.

3. Pray for our families to be strengthened and united as we enter the busy and stressful Christmas season.

4. Pray that we connect visitors into small groups and ministries.

5. Pray that God gives us clear direction regarding our next steps in launching this ministry.

6. Pray that God provides the furnishings and equipment to make our building useful and attractive. Check our Wish List.

7. Pray that God gives strength and hope to Elmer and his family. Elmer has returned home and continues to trust in God. After undergoing chemo an infection broke out in his lungs ceasing his treatment plan to receive a bone marrow transplant. Fortunately, God has given him strength and increased his white blood cells. He is now home recuperating and fighting the infection.

8. Pray that God works in the hearts and lives of our unchurched friends (a few came off the list and few more were added): Terry, Rachel, Tom, Deb, Zack, Courtney, Brenna, Adriana, Russ, Martha, Brian, Tony, Dave, Steve, Denny, Ruth, Eric, Erica, David, Joshua, Phil, Jenny,  Isaac, Candy, Adam, Sh'ree, Sarah, John, Mary, Debra, Monique, Malik, Pat, Holly, Judy, Cheryl, Benjamin, Mat, Julie, Evan, Cara, James, Gary, Cindy, Cliff, Leroy, Mat, Shane, Misty, Tom, Jan, Bonnie, Ken, Lisa, Tim, Cory, Cindy, Jen, Marlene, Seth, Mike, Stuart, Donna, Patty, Nicole, Merv, Janet, Mick, Heather, Jonathan, Amanda, Bob, Melissa, Ryan, Gloria, Matt, Al, Caleb, Isaac, Mark, Cathy, and Anna.

Nov./Dec. 2005 Prayer Update

Dear friends & family,

I really can't believe that this just keeps getting better. If you have any doubt as to whether God exists or whether he answers prayers, consider what he is doing with us... If you look at last months prayer concerns and then read this letter, you will see that God has been listening and acting!

What is God doing?
Alix gave her life to Christ after our Sunday Gathering on Oct. 23!  She is the great-grand-daughter of Kathleen, our Prayer Team Leader.  Alix has been living with an aunt and uncle in Denver since birth, but was struggling to get on the right track.  Kathleen allowed her to move in and brought her to church, where she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior.  God is at work in this family!

We have moved into a larger space and received several donations to begin furnishing the building! As you can see our youth have made themselves at home and made their space pretty cool.  So many things have been given to us.  I can't list it all here, but you can read more at our website.  Thanks to all who have donated stuff!

We baptized an infant (Elyssa Joy Van Wyk) and 2 confessing adults! Teresa and Joey (mom and son) have been apart of our ministry from the beginning.  Teresa accepted Christ in 2003 while attending a Doing Life Together Small Group with us.  Joey accepted Christ at Vacation Bible School 2 years ago. Neither had professed their commitment to Christ publicly, so we celebrated their commitments on Oct. 16.

The wall has come down already! (When we moved in we set a goal to have 40 in worship with a reward of knocking out a wall to give us more space.)  The official count for Nov. 2: 43 people. Nine were first time visitors (2 local adults, 2 “far away family” visitors, & 5 youth). Thus, the wall came down. The youth managed that the following Wednesday night. More photos are online.

Leaders are developing ministries and servants are making it happen. Colleen is overseeing our nursery and serving there weekly.  Steph and Mark are nurturing our kids (ages 4-10) for at least an hour each week.  Clete and Teresa are creating a sign. Terry is doing maintenance and electrical work.  Lorry, Armond, Terry, Clete, Teresa, and Ken are helping get a youth ministry off the ground.  Elroy is overseeing coffee and food, but many others are helping out.  Carlene is visiting. Nancy proofs all our documents. Elroy, Bev, Kathleen, and Carlene help with administrative stuff.

Fuzzy’s Footnote

God's blessings to you.  As briefly as I can, here is the latest with the family, the ministry, and the move.

The Family:  We are all doing swimmingly! Richard is turning into a well packed brute of a boy.  He is built for football and I'm just starting to work with him to be a linebacker.  Aria is turning into the cutest little thing on feet. [As the editor, I must mention here that the beliefs of our writers are not necessarily consistent with that of BOH or its editor.]  She is just getting so smart, speaking more, and developing a great personality.  Harmony is benefiting from some creative approaches to home schooling and becoming a great helper.  She helped clean our cabin till 12:30PM one night.  Which brings me to the next area...
The Move:  We are completely moved into a blessing of a 3 bedroom home.  We officially took residence on Nov. 9.  Our new home is just north of BOH's building in the heart of Waterloo.  It even came with some furniture and a fenced in backyard!  It's the perfect size and a blessing from Him.  God is great!

The Ministry:  Well, so much has been going on.  I will give a very brief overview here.

l The youth group is off to a great start.  We are building relationships with lots of youth from several different communities.  You can see photos of smashing pumpkins and more at our website.

l The weekly Emerging Leaders Training at Orchard Hill Church is excellent. It is helping me focus myself on my call.

l Kevin and I work great together and I am so very grateful for God allowing us to work and grow together.

l I am thankful that I have been able to lead 5 people to Christ this month. One of them came to our home just 5 days after we moved where Rachel and I were able to witness to her and lead her to Christ.  HOW AWESOME!
