Prayer Update
Dear friends & family,
I want to quickly share some more
exciting news from Waterloo. If you are new to the
prayer team you may want to read our previous prayer
updates at
www.bridgeofhopechurch.com/pray4us.html.
 We
have received a 24 ft. cargo trailer from Meredith Drive
Reformed Church:
The trailer came loaded with 15 portable
church cases (to the right), a large Windmaster sign
(to
the left), several
“Special Needs Parking,”
signs, many
indoor directional signs, 2 portable rockers, a baby
changing mat, and a
nursery/parent contact system. This gift is worth about
$20,000, but we call it priceless!
 God
has been clarifying, directing and expanding our vision.
We are becoming increasingly aware of the brokenness of
our community. Waterloo has a serious drug problem,
some of the worst student test scores in the state, many
families living below the poverty level, continued
racial
discrimination,
rampant spiritual apathy, and a largely disconnected
youth population. In response, we believe God is
calling us to launch a vibrant, growing ministry
which effectively addresses cyclical poverty,
disconnected youth, unquestioned materialism, spiritual
apathy,
and relational brokenness/division.
Specifically, we are working toward
opening a youth ministry center in the heart of Waterloo
this summer and to launch Sunday gatherings in the
Crossroads Theatre this fall.
Any of the buildings pictured may be the
future home to our youth ministry and offices.
Fuzzy’s
Footnote
A father recently called and
began asking questions. I was beginning to
feel defensive when
he
finally shared his reason for calling. “My
son came home last night and quoted Romans
8:31-32,
and then explained what it meant.” He
could not believe that his son was actually
getting the message. By the way, yes, those
are Bibles the youth are reading to the
right. Their digging in and growing up!
