7.06 PRAYER LIST

1. Pray that our Community Impact Events open opportunities for us to share our faith and lead others to Jesus.

2. Keep praying that God provides an affordable facility for a youth center with at least 4,000 sq. ft., a kitchen, a larger room (for 150), a medium room (for 30), restrooms, office space, and parking.

3. Pray that God provides all we need for an Oct. 1 launch at the Crossroads Theatre.

4. Pray for additional funds to be raised.  While we have raised the essentials for our budget, we hope to raise additional resources to expand outreach efforts and youth ministry (i.e. open a youth center).

5.Pray for Norma and the Hepler family as they mourn (and celebrate) Elmer's going home.

6. Pray that God helps us understand serving as a prescription and that we “prescribe” and take what we need.

7. Pray for our youth as they begin to grow in Christ and for the leaders as they love and guide them.

8. Pray for Mike Ungs, Elmer & Norma's grandson, as he deals with complications from diabetes and searches for a cure for swelling in his legs.

PRAY 4 US!
July 2006 Prayer Update

Dear friends & family,
Here it is....mid July already.  Time is flying by and we are seeking your prayers as we draw closer to our launch date in October.  It is such a privilege to be able to ask for prayers.  It means that we are moving and changing and growing.  We could just hit autopilot and cruise till Jesus comes back, but that is definitely not what Bridge of Hope is about.  Our desire is to shake things up, do things differently, look different to outsiders and draw the curious in.  Jesus was never on autopilot and I hope we never are either.

Part of the process of launching is to get our name out there and to get BOH on the lips of the community.  We are doing that in several ways.  We were in the My Waterloo Days parade with our newly painted trailer and the youth group skating behind it (and in front sometimes.)  After that we passed out glow bracelets and necklaces to those who were out for the fireworks.  One of our members remarked that since no one was selling bracelets and BOH was the only one giving them out, it was so cool to be able to look out in the darkness and see the twelve hundred people BOH had reached.  Jesus said we should be like him.  That night, we definitely were a light in the darkness.  We have also been cleaning the Unity Center, giving out cold bottled water in the park, washing laundry for free and giving away kid's DVDs.

Other community impact events are scheduled too.  Coming up is a free carwash, handing out free glow necklaces, giving away more water, and handing out free hotdogs and sodas.  Please pray that we will have the man power to be effective and make many people stop and wonder what really is going on at BOH.   May God use us to connect many people with Himself.

A good sign that Satan isn't happy about what is going on, specifically with our Youth group, Shattered, is that he has been on the attack, trying to spread rumors and gossip in order to shut it down.  We strongly urge you to pray hard for Shattered and the youth that are being reached each week.  Pray for the youth leaders, that they would have wisdom and courage in the face of adversity.  There is no room for weak kneed people on the front lines and that is just where our youth leaders are.  It is a good sign that they are doing something right or Satan would not be bothered.  But we all need to cover that ministry with a blanket of prayers of protection.  It is vital that these teens be ministered to and fed.

And lastly, we had a very exciting Sunday this week.  We worshiped together at the Crossroads Theater for the first time this Sunday, 7-16-06.  We even broke our attendance record with 61 people present.   Our launch team did an incredible amount of work to get the equipment ready for this trial run.  We hit some snags with the audio equipment and had to work out some big kinks, but all in all it was a great blessing to be able to take this step toward our goal of worshiping there every week, starting in October.   There was a buzz of excitement in the air...or was that the equipment?  It was just what we needed because it really cemented our vision for the future of BOH.  It enabled us to see our long term goals being realized.  We need our prayer warriors to hold us up in prayer because it is an incredible amount of work to load, haul and unload all of the equipment each week and it is going to take every member of our launch team doing their part to make this work.  This trial run made that very clear.  You are an integral part of our team.  We cannot do this without God’s blessing, His strength and His guidance.  We cannot do this without you either.
